Challenging Roads Guided Off-Road Motorbike Tour - from Marrakesh
During this 9-day motorbike adventure tour, we will cross the Atlas Mountains twice through the two most famous passes, discovering some of the least frequented pistes of Southern Morocco. Our tour will start and end in the Imperial City of Marrakech. We will ride through the Tizi n’Test and Tichka passes, spend a night in a special camp in the desert, and traverse the less frequented dirt roads of the South. You will have the opportunity to see the diverse landscapes of Morocco, from the greenery of the mountains to the multicolored face of the desert, while exploring Marrakech and Ouarzazate, known for many famous movie scenes. We will navigate fast-paced roads filled with switchbacks and flowing corners and tackle some rocky off-road sections where speed will be replaced by technical challenges. This trip is recommended for experienced riders and adventurers seeking a unique tour.
Day 1: Arrival
Arrival in Marrakech. Transfer to your spa hotel, where you can settle in and relax by the pool before the trip starts the next morning. You will meet your tour guide for a briefing session, go through the necessary formalities, and receive your welcome pack.
Day 2: Marrakech – Ouarzazate (approx. 220 km)
After breakfast, we will mount our bikes to tackle the heights of the Atlas once again. This time, we will climb the Tizi n’Tichka pass, reaching 2,260 meters, before taking a less frequented road that leads us to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou. This route features wonderful switchbacks and tight corners, as well as flowing off-road sections. You will be struck by the variety of sights and will have plenty of opportunities to take pictures. We will arrive in Ait benhaddou in the afternoon and visit the famous Kashbah.
Day 3: Ouarzazate – M’Hamid (approx. 260 km)
We will leave our accommodation after breakfast by the pool to head towards the desert and the sand dunes of M’Hamid. Our ride will follow the many palm trees and plantations of the Draa Valley, with the scenery transitioning from the previous days’ greenery to the yellowish colors of the desert, occasionally interrupted by the green of the oases. We will spend the night in an organized campsite in the desert, where you can marvel at the vastness and beauty of the sky, as observed in places free from light pollution.
Day 4: M’Hamid – Foum Zguid (approx. 200 km)
The challenges begin. We will experience a day of riding the remote pistes of the South. The roads are mostly flowing off-road tracks with occasional sandy patches and rocky sections, so off-road experience will be beneficial. Riders with less practice will have plenty of opportunities to gain experience. Since the day's distance is not excessive, it usually provides participants with a unique feel for the country.
Day 5: Foum Zguid – Tafraoute (approx. 300 km)
An early start will take us back towards Tafraoute through the small winding roads of the Anti-Atlas. We will ride on smaller national roads where twists and turns become increasingly frequent as we approach the mountains. You will thoroughly enjoy this ride on roads where traffic is less common than around cities. Before reaching our accommodation and enjoying a well-deserved dinner, we will take the pistes to explore the blue rocks near Tafraoute.
Day 6: Tafraoute – Agadir (approx. 200 km)
This day will take us to our wonderful accommodation near Morocco's surfing spots. The roads will provide plenty of joy for this ultimate day, with fast corners and switchbacks before arriving in Agadir and then continuing along the coastal road to the hotel. You will have the opportunity to surf, try stand-up paddleboarding, participate in yoga, or enjoy a traditional hammam in the beautiful spa.
Day 7: Agadir – Taroudant (approx. 120 km)
The first leg of our journey will take us along the coastal road before turning inland to explore Paradise Valley. Our route will navigate through small winding mountain roads, leading us to our first stop, where we will leave our bikes for a short walk to explore the natural water ponds of Paradise Valley. Once back on our motorcycles, we will cross Agadir and head east on small country roads to reach Taroudant, our destination for the day.
Day 8: Taroudant – Marrakech (approx. 230 km)
Today, we will head back toward the imperial city of Marrakech. This day promises exciting riding as we cross the Atlas again through the winding roads and switchbacks of the Tizi n’Test pass. There will be plenty of opportunities to take pictures, and you will want to stop occasionally to take in the breathtaking scenery.
Day 9: Departure
Depending on your flight time, you may take the opportunity to relax at the hotel or decide to take surfing lessons. Those who choose to extend their holidays will remain to enjoy the weather and the many activities available, while those departing will be transferred to the airport via their pre-arranged pick-up.
