DAY 2 - DAY 3- VERONA
Verona, a medieval village in the northern region of Veneto, is built along the Adige River, and best known for being the setting of Shakespeare's famous work, “Romeo and Juliet.” As one makes their way through the city they find themselves surrounded by Roman structures in designs with glorious little balconies. A remarkable 1st-century amphitheater marks the heart of Verona.
Beyond the private walking tour of Verona, your guide can customize the itinerary to your interests. Whether you want to focus on the history of the city, its musical elements, or another theme, Verona has plenty of fascinating angles to explore.
DAY 4 - VENICE (Day trip)
The energy that fills Venice is unlike any other and must be experienced first hand. We begin our time in Venice with a Vaporetto (water bus ride) to the main square.
Everyone has time to witness the Venetian techniques of glass blowing before a free afternoon to visit the famous Ducal Palace on St. Mark’s Square, or explore the different neighborhoods of this enchanting city before returning to Verona for the evening.
DAY 5 - LAKE GARDA (Day trip)
Lake Garda is Italy’s largest lake and is located in one of the most beautiful regions of Northern Italy. This amazing place has plenty to offer for everyone. Sirmione (pictured above) is perched at the top of a thin strip of land stretching onto the lake and it is almost entirely surrounded by water, a position that makes the town unique and very atmospheric.
This small charming town is known for its Scaligero Castle and the town’s thermal baths. Everyone will have time to visit both! An optional boat ride around the area will also be offered. The group will leave in the early evening to sleep in Bolzano for the evening.
DAY 6 - DAY 9 - BOLZANO & THE DOLOMITES
Bolzano is a delightful city on the foothills of the Dolomites, in Northern Italy. The capital of South Tyrol, Bolzano, is a small scenic town cradled by the dramatic peaks of the UNESCO-protected Dolomites and undulating valleys with unmistakable peaks surrounding the verdant landscapes. Bolzano has an energetic vibe thanks to annual cultural festivals and the university students, set against a backdrop of heritage landmarks: the medieval castles, Gothic churches and wide piazzas.
Thanks to its unique location, the city offers a tri-influence of Italian, German and Ladin language and architecture. We will have time to explore the city as well as go hiking in the foothills, and take a full day tour to the mountain peaks and valleys.
DAY 10- DAY 12 - VIENNA
Our program will end in Vienna- famous for its culture, imperial sights, and Viennese charm. The group will learn about the famous Viennese composers while taking in the sights and history on a walking tour of the city.
During our stay we will visit the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, the Viennese museum of art history and the largest art museum in the country.
We will also visit the Sisi Museum and the Imperiorial apartments of the Habsburgs, the infamous family that came into power in the 13th century.
The final full day in Vienna takes our group to the Schönbrunn Palace with a private guided tour. The former hunting lodge was developed into the summer home of the royal family that we see today in the 18th century. Much of the work was commissioned by the former monarch Maria Theresa.
