Herculaneum & Volcanic Wine Experience with Private Driver
Explore one of the best-preserved archaeological site in the world and discover the fascinated history of Herculaneum with a Private excursion of the ancient ruins with a qualified local guide.
Pompeii is a unique archaeological site in the world where the time stopped 2000 years ago. Its ruins are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Patrimony.
The city was buried under 16 meters of ash during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD: this thick layer of rubbles and aches has preserved intact the domus homes with the internal architecture and décor, including decorations, jewellery as well as some organic remains like food. This give us the opportunity to have a clear view of the daily lives of the ancient population of Herculaneum.
Let’s move to a typical local winery located on a gentle slope of the Mount Vesuvius to relax and enjoy 5 wines: 3 varieties of Lacryma Christi wine (Red, White and Rosé), a typical Aglianico wine and a dessert wine, all paired with local traditional food in traditional lunch in the winery that includes 1 antipasti, 2 main courses and dessert. Lacryma Christi, literally “tears of Christ”, has been produced since Ancient Roman times and all the vines of the vineyards we visit grow on volcanic soil with distintive properties and taste of the wine. The winery is located within the Vesuvius National Park: the visit to the vineyards and the terrace where the wine and food tasting take place, offer a stunning view on Sorrento Coast, Capri Island, Pompei and the the Vesuvius itself.
This excursion is private and includes transfers from Herculameum to the winery
