Lofoten | Winter kayaking in Reinefjorden

Go to one of Norway’s most spectacular fjords. On this trip you get to experience colorful fisherman’s cabins on stilts. Smell the scent of cod hanging to dry on the fishing reels. Get impressed of the ancient mountains plunge steeply into the crystal clear water, shoals of fish, wildlife and sea eagles.

The natural impressions you get on this trip are authentic and unique. You go with a local company and as a participant receive quality equipment as paddle jackets and stable boats that are adapted to the individual. This is an environmentally friendly, fun and graceful outdoor activity, right in the heart of Lofoten.
 

 

PRACTICAL INFORMASJON

  • We meet at Reine Paddling, 5 minutes before the activity start. 

  • Adress Sverdrupsvei 9, 8390 Reine. (you also find us on google map) 

  • Restrooms: There are available restrooms before and after the trip. 

  • Transportation, parking and charging: Park your car on the official parking of Reine. You find the bus scedules at reisnordland.no and the bus stop 'Reine (Moskenes)' is just a couple of meters from our kayaking center.
    We have two electrical chargers for tessla or other el-cars, please ask about it in the reception. 

  • Clothing:  Dress for the weather in warm and comfortable clothes. We recommend wool or thermal underwear, a thick sweather and wind jacket. Remember to wear a beanie and  gloves to keep you warm. We will give you fisherman glowes to keep your hands dry. 

  • Lockers: We have lockers. Just ask the guide if you need to storage you luggage or other items during the trip. 

  • Drinks and snacks: We have a small shop where you can buy some eco drinks and snacks or even local seaweed. But also feel free to bring you own bottle to fill. 

  • What to bring: Bring your own drybag if you need one for to your camera. 


    THE GREAT THING WITH KAYAKING IS THAT IT CAN BE ENJOYED BY ALL 
    Kayaking is a great sport for any beginner to learn and it can be enjoyed by all sizes and shapes. We love kayaking, and we hope to share this passion with you, in one of the most beautiful places on earth. 
     

  • Minimum age: We never say that we have a minimum age. Our dry suits fit people from 150cm tall. Kayaking can be fantastic at no matter what age.  But children have to kayak with a grown up, and they must be able to at least kayak for 2 hours. If you are in doubt, give us a call. 

  • Maximum weight and height: Our double boats can carry up to 240 kg. If you are a tall person with large feets, it would be best to leave your large hiking boots at home. Ask our guides to borrow you one of our wet shoes.  If you are in doubt, give us a call. 

  • Accessibility and adaptation: Paddling with a disability is not as much of a barrier as you might think, and there are easy adaptions that can be made. And we love to do that :-) Our guides are trained under the Norwegian kayaking assosiation for EtU Parapadling, EtU LEadership in Mental Health and EtU Young, on top of other activity leader training or guide education. Please give us a call upon booking, so we can prepare it in front of the trip. 

  • Size of the group: There are normally 1- 6 double boats on our trips. There is possiblility to organise bigger kayak groups. We are also organising private trips in any time you wish - just give us a call and ask about details. 

  • Yes: We also have single boats and drysuit. We are also providing kayak courses called (Våttkort) wet card. In this part of Norway, you need to have it to be able to rent a boat for self guided trips. You are welcome to contact us for more details.

  • ECO sertificate: We are an Eco Lighthouse certified company.
