Day 1
Meet at Husaak Center by 1 pm Thursday. After the trip briefing, the team will drive approx. 2.5 hours to south on the Sur Coastal road to reach the Salmah plateau. Set up camp above the clouds. Camp 1 is next to the vehicles and you will have the option to sleep in tents or on outdoor cot beds. Depending on the arrival time, the group may enjoy a light hike before dinner. Tuck into dinner and relax around the campfire.
Day 2
Wake up with the sunrise, enjoy a warm breakfast and then pack up Camp 1. Drive to the start point and into the Wadi you go canyoning, abseiling, swimming and bouldering for around 7-9 hours. The final part is a free climb to reach the end of the Wadi where you must climb around 300 meters almost vertical with the assistance of safety equipment.
There are many waterfalls and deep wadi pools along the way. This trip is all about teamwork, trust and helping one another. A good physical fitness level and endurance is required for this adventure. Strong arms to pull yourself up in some spots and a fearless heart to descend hanging in the air is essential. This trip is best conquered in the summer and fall months as it can be very cold in the winter and spring.
The group will exit the wadi between 3 pm and 5 pm. From the end point and vehicles, its a 2-hour drive to the beach camping spot at Ras Al Hadd.
After we set up camp the group will tuck into our famous surf and turf with fresh grilled sea food. Ras Al Hadd is a well-known turtle nesting spot. After dinner on Friday night, our turtle expert will meet us and take the group on a late-night search. This could take 1 hour or 2. If you are lucky you may get to see the turtles nesting!
Day 3
6 am – Wake up and have a delicious hot breakfast. This is stunning sunrise spot, perfect for a pre breakfast dip in the sea! Once the car is packed up the group will set off on a morning boat ride, if the weather permits! Return to shore and set off on the 4 hour return drive to Muscat. The estimated arrival time is 2 pm.
