7th Hole

The 7th Hole is one of a series of caves located on the Salmah Plateau in Oman. It is part of an interconnected system of  caves that spans the plateau. The Husaak Adventures 7th Hole trip involves descending a total of 120 meters into this cave and exploring the many amazing sights of the cave interior. 

Starts - 1 pm Thursday 
Ends - 3 pm Saturday

Packing list:

The Essentials: Ankle support hiking boots, thick woolen socks, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, day rucksack, headlights (with spare batteries) and reusable insulated water bottle (2l)

Nice to Have: Sunhat, gloves for summertime, lip balm and sunscreen, bug spray/ repellent, camera / gopro with chargers, extra batteries, toiletries, fresh clothes and sandals / flipflops for the camp.

 

Inclusions: 2 nights camping with equipment (Tent, all camp cutlery, plates, bowls and cups), 2 x dinner, 2 x packed lunch or lunch in local restaurant, 2 x breakfast, transport, experienced Husaak guides, all entry fees & all safety equipment.

Sleeping bag & Mat available for rent @ OMR 15.

Location

Day 1 – Journey to the Plateau

  • 3 PM: Meet at the Husaak Center and depart for Salmah Plateau

  • Enjoy a scenic drive through dramatic landscapes on the way to camp

  • Arrive at camp and set up tents in the wild beauty of the plateau

  • Dinner around the campfire, soaking in the stars and fresh mountain air

Day 2 – Training Day

  • Start the day with a warm breakfast

  • Begin your intensive training session on caving and rope techniques

    • Learn how to use ropes, harnesses, and climbing equipment

    • Practice descending and ascending techniques in a controlled environment

  • Wind down with a delicious dinner by the campfire under the night sky

Day 3 – The Big Descent

  • Early morning breakfast and gear-up

  • Begin your caving expedition, putting your new skills into action

    • Descend into the cave, using rope systems and techniques learned

    • Explore the otherworldly sights and sounds deep underground — a true once-in-a-lifetime experience

  • Ascend back out of the cave in the afternoon

  • Relax, unwind, and celebrate your achievement with dinner by the fire

Day 4 – History & Home

  • Enjoy a final warm breakfast at camp

  • Pack up and drive back to Muscat, with memories etched forever

No prior experience is required. A comprehensive training session is provided on Day 2 to prepare you for the cave descent safely and confidently.
