Day 3: Ravishing rocky coast at Benagil, Lagos & Costa Vicentina

Let's get the most known highlight out of our way: Benagil. This sea cave is only one of many, but has become the most famous one after an Instagram photo has gone viral. We admit, this sounds very touristy, but the truth is, that admiring the coastline from the sea is an absolute must in the Algarve. Each rock formation, each secluded beach is different and wonderful on their own. You will without a doubt enjoy the small boat trip from beginning to end, before we drive you to Lagos, the city of the discoveries, for a guided visit and free time to stroll through the cobbled streets and grab some lunch (not included). In the afternoon, we show you some amazing spots in the Natural Park of Costa Vicentina, including Cape St. Vincent, the End of the World.

Day 4: Free time

Free day to spend at your leisure.

Day 5: Discovering heritage in the Monchique Mountains & Silves

Time to go up to the mountains of Monchique, also known as the Garden of the Algarve. An extremely biodiverse region and a close-knit community, where many still live off the land and regional produce is the standard. You will learn about the importance of the cork tree, visit a local distillery where the spirit 'medronho' is still made in the ancient ways, taste the honey of a thousand flowers and enjoy the wide views over the Algarve. At lunch time you will have free time in the main village (lunch not included). In the afternoon, you will drive to the former capital Silves, where you are free to visit the Moorish castle, the cathedral or to simply enjoy a fresh orange juice in the sun.

Day 6: Free time

Free day to spend at your leisure.

Day 7: Cruising in the blue lagoon of Ria Formosa

The Natural Park of Ria Formosa is a maritime lagoon protected to safeguard migratory birds and seahorses. A wonderful ecosystem consisting of sandy islands, sea canals, salines and clam fields. The two-hour boat trip will show you around in the widest part of the lagoon, with a stop on one of the islands for a short walkaround. Afterwards you have free time to visit the traditional market of the town Olhão, the biggest fishing port of the Algarve, and to have lunch (not included). In the afternoon, you visit an olive oil producer with a tasting of this 'liquid gold' before heading to the city of Loulé. Located in the hinterland, away from the busy touristic coastline, Loulé has a lot of small cultural gems to discover. As you walk from artisan to chapel to city walls and old ruins, you get to learn the roots of the people in this lesser known part of the Algarve.

Day 8: Free time
