Day 1: Journey into the Heart of the Desert
Begin your adventure in Muscat as you head south to explore some of Oman’s most breathtaking landscapes. Your first stop is the Bimah Sinkhole, a unique natural formation fed by fresh water from the mountains and sea water from the coast. Take a leisurely stroll around its crater and soak in the stunning views of the brackish water which gives the turquoise blue color.
Next, you’ll have the option to savor a packed lunch amidst the scenic surroundings or indulge in a meal at a local restaurant, sampling the flavors of Oman.
As you continue your journey, arrive at the entrance of Wahiba Sands, also known as Sharqiya Sands. This magnificent expanse of golden dunes stretches 200 km long and 100 km wide, extending all the way to the Arabian Sea. Steeped in history, these dunes have been home to the Bedouin people for over 7,000 years.
Set up camp among the dunes and immerse yourself in the enchanting desert landscape. As evening falls, enjoy a delicious BBQ dinner under a star-filled sky, accompanied by the warmth of a cozy bonfire—an experience you won't forget.
Day 2: Refreshing Oasis and Return to Muscat
Awake to the serene stillness of the desert and enjoy a hearty breakfast as the sun rises. Afterward, traverse the golden dunes as you exit Wahiba Sands, capturing the beauty of the landscape one last time.
Your next destination is the enchanting Wadi Bani Khalid. Drive through picturesque villages adorned with endless date plantations until you reach this magnificent wadi. The pools here are cool, deep, and absolutely stunning, inviting you to plunge into the crystal-clear waters and relax on the shores of this idyllic oasis.
Recharge with a delightful lunch at a local restaurant, reflecting on your incredible journey. Finally, conclude your adventure with a scenic return trip to Muscat, filled with unforgettable memories and a deeper appreciation for the breathtaking beauty of Oman.
