Day 2Explore Abu Simbel Temples
Your second day of Aswan highlights 3 days tour takes you to the phenomenal temples of Abu Simbel. So, you will take a transfer (about 3.5 hours) with your tour guide to these phenomenal temples. The temples of Abu Simbel are considered among the most celebrated achievements of ancient Egypt. The two temples were cut in the cliffs about 310 Km south of Aswan. The Great Temple was built for Ramses II (1279-1213 BC), while the Small Temple was built for his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari.

Day 3End of your Aswan highlights 3 days tour
Today, you will discover some of the hidden gems of Aswan as the beautiful Island of Sehel and the historical Island of Elephantine. Sehel Island is one of the largest islands on the Nile, located upstream from the First Cataract in Aswan region. It contained a quarry for the mining of granite, the hardest stone used in ancient Egypt. The island contains hundreds of inscriptions and royal cartouches, immortalizing countless officials and kings. Many of these inscriptions can be seen on the large granite boulders surrounding the island.
While Elephantine Island’s southern end comprises the site of ancient Abu. Its name meant both ‘elephant’ and ‘ivory’ in ancient Egyptian language, a reminder of the important role the island once played in the ivory trade.
