Nordfjordeid The Amazing Briksdal Glacier

DETAILS ABOUT THIS SCHEDULED GUIDED DAY TOUR:

Our journey begins in the charming village of Nordfjordeid, offering a scenic adventure through Norway’s stunning landscapes. We will travel along the beautiful Nordfjord, a turquoise fjord, on this adventure. Following the breathtaking panoramic road we will stop to take some pictures at Nordfjord Viewpoint, 500 meters above the fjord.

Our journey continues through Stryn and Loen, two small but significant towns for Norwegian tourism. With their ski centers and plethora of activities, these towns attract tourists from all over the world. We will then reach the village of Olden. Here you will find many colorful farms, as this valley is very fertile, and has many waterfalls. We will visit Briksdalsbre Mountain Lodge, where the walk to the Briksdal Glacier begins, an arm of Europe’s largest glacier, the Jostedal Glacier.

A beautiful trail surrounded by waterfalls and mountains will lead you to the viewpoint at the glacier lake, from where you will be able to enjoy this amazing natural treasure. The walk to the viewpoint normally takes approximately 45-60 minutes. The first part of the trail is considered the most difficult. After that, the path is relatively even and the hike becomes easier.

After the lovely hike we will take a well-deserved break, savoring coffee or tea and something to eat in the delightful cafeteria located at Briksdalsbre Mountain Lodge.

After our incredible visit to the Briksdal Glacier, we will return to Nordfjordeid, with a photo stop at the spectacular Hornindal Lake, known as the deepest lake in Europe. We will enjoy some peaceful moments by the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by towering mountains.
