Explore the untouched beauty of Walvis Bay’s outer peninsula in a custom 4×4 safari to Pelican Point — home to thousands of Cape fur seals, graceful flamingos, and sweeping ocean views.

This coastal off-road experience is perfect for nature lovers, photographers, families, or anyone wanting a close-up look at Namibia’s marine life — no kayaking or boats required.

You’ll travel through pink salt lakes, bird-rich lagoons, and end at the dramatic point where the Namib meets the Atlantic.

No paddling, just pure exploring. Join us daily at 2 PM from the Walvis Bay Waterfront.

Location

14:00 – Departure from Walvis Bay Waterfront

  • Meet your guide and hop into a comfortable 4×4.

  • Short briefing and safety overview.

14:15 – Pink Salt Pans & Bird Lagoon

  • Drive past the scenic pink salt lakes, used for salt harvesting and rich in minerals.

  • Stop for flamingo spotting and quick birdwatching (seasonal terns, pelicans, avocets etc).

14:45 – Peninsula Drive

  • Follow the sand spit toward Pelican Point.

  • Stunning contrasts of desert and ocean — opportunity for desert, ocean, and bird photography.

15:15 – Pelican Point Seal Colony

  • Arrive at the Cape fur seal colony — home to 60,000+ seals.

  • Walk around (safe distance) and observe their behavior.

  • Look out for jackals and black-backed gulls scavenging around.

  • Learn about the local ecosystem, tides, and seal conservation.

16:15 – Return via Coastal Route

  •  Return with optional photography stops (time dependin).

17:00 – Drop-off in Walvis Bay
