Extreme: The Edge

This is one of the most challenging descents in all of Oman.
Join Husaak on an unforgettable 2-day adventure along The Edge, an ancient villagers' trail that takes you from the summit of Al Jabal Al Akhdar (2,300m) down to the remote plains of Wadi Bani Kharus. The route is wild, raw, and packed with edge-of-the-world moments, including narrow cliffside paths (as tight as one foot wide!) and a heart-pounding traverse line installed by the Husaak team for your safety.

Expect dramatic views, exposed ledges, and a trail that pushes both your body and mind. On the way down, you’ll pass through Oman’s rich natural diversity, from pomegranate orchards, mango groves, and walnut trees to cool wadis, hidden waterfalls, and breathtaking rock formations.

This is not for the faint of heart, but for those who want to truly test their limits and earn the title of adventurer.

  • This is a mixed-gender trip

Inclusions: 1 night camping with equipment (Tent, all camp cutlery, plates, bowls and cups), 1 night hotel accommodation, 2 x breakfast, 2 x dinner, 1 packed lunch or lunch in local restaurant, transport, guide, dry bags & all safety equipment.

Packing List
The Essentials: Hiking backpack, ankle-support hiking boots, thick woolen socks, microfiber towel, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, headlamp (with spare batteries), dry-fit leggings or shorts with t-shirts, sandals for camp, hat, sunglasses, reusable insulated water bottle (2L)

Nice to Have: Hat, sunglasses, gloves for summertime (Rocks can get hot), lip balm and sunscreen, bug spray/ repellent, camera / gopro with chargers, extra batteries, toiletries, fresh clothes, sandals/flipflops for the camp, and a waterproof mobile phone case.

Location

Day 1 – Into the Highlands
At 1:00 PM, gather at the Husaak Center in Muscat to kick off your epic adventure.
After a short briefing, hit the road for a 3-hour scenic drive to Al Jabal Al Akhdar, winding through rugged mountain passes and breathtaking highlands.
Arrive at your wild campsite just before sunset, perched high above the valleys.
As golden light fades across the peaks, settle in for a BBQ dinner under the stars. The silence of the mountains sets the tone for the adventure ahead.

Day 2 – Descent into the Wild
Wake up early, have breakfast at camp, and begin the legendary descent from 2,300m at 6:00 AM.
Navigate narrow ledges, cliffside drops, and a thrilling traverse line as part of a 12 to 16-hour trek through orchards, waterfalls, and wild rock formations.
End the day with a well-earned steak dinner and a cozy night’s stay at Sama Wakan.

Day 3 – Wakan Wonders & Farewell
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, then take a short optional stroll through Wakan Village, known for its terraced farms, charming stone paths, and panoramic views.
At 11:00 AM, begin your journey back to Muscat.
Arrive at the Husaak Center, tired but accomplished, with a story only the brave few can tell.
