*ST* Lagos + West Coast
Your day starts at the Ponta da Piedade, an absolute gem when it comes to the intrinsic south coast of the Algarve. You will enjoy free time to go from viewpoint to viewpoint on the wooden walkways surrounding the light house or, if you are up for it, to take the stairs all the way down to sea level.
Next, you drive to Lagos, the city of the discoveries. Your guide explains the historic importance of this port during the 15th century, as well as the role of Portugal in the discovery of the New World. You also have free time to further explore the old town by yourself and have some lunch.
In the afternoon you head to the west coast. This part of the Algarve is a protected area, called the Natural Park of Costa Vicentina, and is just absolutely breathtaking! You enjoy views over long sandy beaches, admire the dark-coloured steep cliffs, pass by a few scattered fishermen villages and see some surfers in action; this is paradise! You have the opportunity to swim at one of the beaches or to just enjoy the view with a fresh drink in hand.
Last, but not least, you drive to Cape St. Vincent, the so-called End of the World and an absolute must when in the Algarve! Here, you have free time to take in the stunning views and feel the Atlantic breeze one more time, before heading back to your accommodation.
