Santorini Hiking Tour

The best hiking trail in Santorini. Easy hike, leisurely walks incredibly views and adventurous ways to spend a summer day in Santorini.

Location

Right outside of the borders of Fira, let’s start walking a little uphill towards the town of Imerovigli and will enjoy the astonishing views of the famous Skaros rock ( if you’re feeling adventurous, it’s an exciting climb offering some of the finest views). Imerovigli is a very small town with some shops and restaurants.
Once we will continue your journey away from the main street in Imerovigli, we’ll encounter the most amazing spots, on the whole, island. Walking close to the caldera, you will catch yourself staring at houses, hotels, spas and the fascinating nature with an open mouth. Everything is calm and quiet, the ocean reflects the sunbeams just perfectly and you won’t believe how lucky you are to be on this unique island.
Soon after passing these beautiful sights of Greek architecture, you will be faced with nature’s simple beauty. You will walk past different kinds of ashes that remained from Santorini’s times as a volcano. But what will take away your breath and make you stop your walk every other minute is the picturesque view of the ocean.
On the way, we will visit three churches, the chapel Agios Antonios, chapel Agios Marcos and the chapel Profitis Ilias.
Once you have passed these chapels and churches, a rather difficult part of the path will start. You will find yourself on 1.2m wide path that is rocky and winds downhill. Soon the street will be paved again and you are around 40-60 min away from Oia.
On this final part of the hike, you will pass the church Timios Stavros that is located at 270m above sea level and then you will be able to spot the city of Oia and reach its borders. We will continue following the path on Oia’s main street with shops and restaurants. From Oia, you will have the perfect view of the famous sunset. This sunset is a one in a lifetime experience.
In summer, the island can become extremely hot, so plan ahead. Take plenty of water, sunscreen, and wear appropriate shoes. It’ advisable to strike out in the morning when the sun is cooler, or in the evening to glimpse the magical Santorini sunsets.

What to bring:  A hat, water, soon screen, comfortable shoes
