OVERVIEW, OR WHAT MAKES THIS TOUR SO SPECIAL?
This tour offers you the chance to explore the stunning natural mountain ranges in northern Montenegro in just one day. The original includes a drive through the canyons to the Tara Bridge, which guests have always found spectacular. 
NOTE: The attractions on this excursion cannot be visited using public transportation in a single day, especially not within 11-14 hours.

Once the road through the canyon is reconstructed and reopened, we will return to the original itinerary. Both itineraries are designed to take the same amount of time, and we believe this adjustment is a fair solution.
 

WHEN AND WHERE WILL WE START?

The tour departs from Kotor at 7:30 in the morning, which is the standard time for all our trips. After a maximum of 45 minutes of driving, we will arrive in Budva, where we will pick up guests. We will arrive in Podgorica 60 minutes later, picking up the guests and continuing our journey. If guests take the private tour, we will pick them up from their accommodations.

NOTE: This tour can last up to 14 hours, and because of that, it is not recommended for small kids.

WHERE WE WILL GO?

We will go to Moračica Bridge, Suspension Iron Morača Bridge, Morača Canyon, Crna Poda Virgin Forest, Tara Canyon, Tara Bridge (Đurđevića Tara Bridge), and Black Lake in Durmitor National Park.

MORAČICA BRIDGE

As soon as we leave Podgorica, the canyon of the Morača River begins at the 5th kilometer. The first attraction that you will see is the brand new Moračica Bridge. The bridge was built for the needs of the Podgorica-Kolašin highway, with a total length of 960 meters and the longest span of 190 meters, which makes it the highest bridge in Montenegro and one of the highest in the Balkans. We will take a photo stop here and at 2 more places in the canyon. The canyon is on the right side of the road, which means that guests can watch it and take photos constantly, even during the ride.

MORAČA CANYON

Right before the longest tunnel in the canyon of the Morača River, in the part named Platije, we will make another photo stop, and then we will ride up to the top of the canyon at a height of 1060 meters above sea level. During the road, the view of the Mountains Morača, named "Kapa Moračka", is breathtaking. When we come to the top, we will take a small break in a village called Crkvine.

VIRGIN FOREST CRNA PODA

After the break, we will continue our way to the bridge over the river Tara. First, we will pass the town of Kolašin, then the town of Mojkovac, and after that, we will enter the canyon of the river Tara, bordered by "black pines" that grow out of the cliffs and are up to 50 meters high. Right at a place called Virgin Forest "Crna Poda", guests can see the beginning of the canyon Tara, where we will make a photo stop.

TARA CANYON

To be able to reach the Tara Bridge, we need to continue our journey for the next 30 minutes. We will see several campsites located by the road from which rafting starts on the Tara River, we will see a few small waterfalls, and we will pass 10 small tunnels, enjoying the view of the turquoise blue river, rocky cliffs, and nature-rich in greenery. And then suddenly, after the last curve, the most wanted bridge in Montenegro will appear in front of us.

TARA BRIDGE (ĐURĐEVIĆA TARA BRIDGE)

Spectacular Tara Bridge, or Djurdjevica Tara Bridge, was made without using any mechanization less than a hundred years ago. This hand-made bridge has a total length of 365 meters, and its height is 172 meters. We will take a break for one hour, which is enough time for guests who want to take the zip line by the bridge or spend time sightseeing. Sometimes, at the peak of the summer season, guests need to wait in line at the zip line start point. It could cause a little delay in our itinerary to Durmitor, but not more than 30 minutes.

SKI CENTER SAVIN KUK IN DURMITOR NATIONAL PARK 

After visiting the bridge, we will go towards the Durmitor mountain massif to the ski center Savin Kuk, which is located on one of the highest peaks in the Durmitor range. Guests who want to see the unreal view of Durmitor peaks and valleys can take the ski lift, and after 20 minutes of the ride, they will be at 2313 meters. After a few minutes of hiking to the edge, they will be able to enjoy the spectacular waves of glaciers, rocks, forests, and blue sky.

The snow might be here up to the middle of July, so a jacket and waterproof shoes are recommended. The full visit of Savin Kuk by ski lift (up and down, with photo-stops) lasts 90 minutes. In the case of strong wind, the ski lift is not open for visitors. Guests who don't want to take the ski lift will be transported to Black Lake. The distance is only 5 kilometers. Guests who want to stay on Savin Kuk will be transported to the Black Lake 90 minutes later, and they will have 1 hour to visit the Lake. The full time for visiting the Lake on our tour is 3 hours.
NOTE: The ski lift may be closed to visitors due to bad weather conditions (wind or rain). In that case, we skip the visit to Savina Kuk and go to Black Lake.

BLACK LAKE IN DURMITOR NATIONAL PARK 

Black Lake or Crno Jezero. is located very close to the mountain town of Zabljak, where we will take a break for up to 3 hours. Everyone will have time for what they want. Those who want to eat can take lunch in the traditional restaurant by the lake. Guests who want to hike will make a circle around the lake of 4.5 km, which lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes. Those who like water activities can rent boats or swim. Whatever you decide to do, simply enjoy the clean air and untouched nature.

At six o'clock in the afternoon, we will start returning slowly using another route, through the plateau of Durmitor and villages Pošćenje and Šavnik. In the summer, when the daylight lasts until the early evening, the guests will be able to see an attractive Krupac Lake close to the city of Nikišić. The sunsets will make nature calm and we will go back home via a fast road from Niksic to Podgorica and then back to Budva and Kotor.
 

TOUR CONDITIONS 

The tour is organized by middle-class cars or minivans (Mercedes Vito). All vehicles are air-conditioned. The prices of the private Durmitor Tour by car are (maximum 4 guests in the car): from Podgorica costs 250 euros, and from Budva, or Kotor costs 300 euros. The price is per car, not per person.

We give a discount for groups of more than 10 people.

Entrance fee for Durmitor National Park
The zipline costs 20-30 euros (optional)

The ski lift costs 10 euros per person (optional)
Guests can use their food and drink (breakfast and lunch are not mandatory).
 

NOTE: Guests who wish to bring their luggage on the tour and end the tour in either Kotor, Budva, or Podgorica can do so easily, provided we have guests from all three cities participating in the tour. There is no luggage fee.
 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

When guests make an online reservation, the card will be charged automatically only if a minimum group of 6 passengers is reached. If not achieved, the card will only be authorized.

If the minimum number of passengers is not found up to 12 hours before departure, the reservation is automatically canceled free of charge. Enjoy peace of mind knowing that there is absolutely no financial risk involved.
 

When the tour is confirmed guests will get the online ticket and a very detailed e-mail with all instructions about the departure point, type of vehicle, name of the driver and guide, phone numbers, etc. Guests don't need to print the tickets, they just need to keep them on their phones and show them to the driver, or guide.
